STERN TRANSFORMERS

smartbomb2084:
You automatically hate a theme because you can't afford it or have to drive 6 hours to play it?

That is one of the LAMER copouts I have heard.

If one of your kids came up with that one you would thnk it was lame too.

I guess it is just easier to outright hate what is unaffordable or too hard to obtain in life so you don't feel like it's something you are missing out on?

Interesting...

smartbomb2084 is protesting a bit too much.   :dunno

Smartbomb, pretty much everything Xiaou2 says is a thread crap (just look at other threads he's wrecked for proof) so I don't really give weight to anything he says.

For the rest of what you said -I actually like that themes make people opinionated, its one of the cool things about pinball.
I think WOZ is an awful theme, but it still seems to be getting a lot of buzz. Stern has a ton of themes I absolutely hate (Shrek, Wheel of Fortune, CSI, Big Buck Hunter), but I'd still happily play the games because I enjoy pinball as a whole. I think much of the opinion here comes from the perspective of actually owning the games because thats what a lot of us do.

ChadTower:

Until about a year ago I would have had zero chance of ever playing anything Stern has made in recent years.  It didn't even really matter to me what their themes were.  They didn't actually exist in my world.  Now there is a monster pinball arcade within an hour of me that does include most of the recent Sterns.  I'll try Transformers but odds are I'll put 2-3 credits into it and then move on to other stuff.  Playing Avatar, Iron Man, and Tron right next to each other was an eye opening experience.  All three feel pretty much the same.  That's not a good trend.

ChadTower:

I didn't realize until I saw that PAPA vid just how many recent Sterns "still don't exist" to me.  I've never seen 24, Wheel of Fortune, Big Buck Hunter, CSI.  I think I have seen Dark Knight and World Poker Tour once.
