So make yourself a better harness.  The point is that if the OEM part is a common failure, and it's an easy to make part, address the issue.  Don't just keep rebuying the part.

That's a lot more than 2000-3000 as stated above.

Thanks everyone.  Sure enough, I found a broken wire inside the cannon harness, right where it goes through the mount bracket.  Was able to repair but may replace harness anyway.

I've seen this video before of a DIY Star Trek Blue-ray phaser gun.The Star Trek fictional universe contains a very large number of weapons. As with most science fiction franchises, the series focuses primarily on energy weapons.
