5 degree bevel on control panel

Hi all, new builder, longtime lurker.

Simple question, it seems the standard CP box has a 1 inch rise from front to back that translates into a 5 degree or so slope.  How do you cut the back and front panels to match this 5 degree slope?  I tried searching for the answer, but couldn't find it.  By the way, I have a jigsaw, circular saw, and router.

A miter saw is the most common method.  Given your tools I would say measure and calculate the angle and cut a piece of *scrap* wood with your circle saw at an approximate angle.  Test fit and repeat as many times as you need to get the angle right.

i didn't... since it is such a small slope, it wasn't much of an issue.  i use that adhesive foam weather stripping between the box and control panel top to get a nice seal, and eliminate any rattling.`

At the risk of sounding dense, whereeagles, what did you do?

The slope on mine was about that (also with a 1" difference in height).  Most circular saws allow you to change the angle from 90 to 45, so you may just have to experiment with tilting the saw until the cut is at the right angle.  Trying it on scraps first is recommended.

Adhesive foam weather stripping is a novel idea too.  I agree that the bevel needed is very slight and I could have probably done without.

Oh, and for nice straight cuts with a circular saw, get a piece of angle-iron and clamp it to the board or work table as a cutting fence/guide.
