help needed super space invaders 91 restore project

cyberduck16:
Hi
Well got the table up and running. Well until last night there was a big spark from what I assume is the monitor power board and now the CRT no longer displays . Is there any way to replace the CRT or would I be better off turning it in to a mame table? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

IG-88:
Sure you can replace the CRT but it will be expensive. You have some descisions to make. Do you want to restore the cab or mame it?

If you are going to get serious into this hobby now would be a good time to learn how to run a multimeter and a soldering iron. Repairing old CRT's seems to be what a majority of the repairs these old cabs take imho.

I would much rather try and restore it. I have some soldering skills already as I do a lot of Pc repairs. Also i know a little about multimeters. Can u point me in the right direction as what to do next? I have no idea where to start

Thanks

RayB:
The spark may just have been the flash of the fuse popping.

Replacing a monitor is not expensive if you are getting another used one. Try to get connected with other local collectors.

Ok well getting another CRT won't be a problem. it's just fitting it in with all the other boards etc.
