Dumb question about disconnects
« on: August 01, 2003, 12:05:59 am »
I'm sorry this is such a stupid question :D

When you use female disconnects do you run the wire through the little grooves on the side of the metal part, or just leave it in the middle?

Thanks!

I don't think it really matters.  Just jam the wire in the hole and use the crimper to smash the disconnect down.

Test your work by giving the wire a tug.  It should not budge or be loose.

It sounds like you are using them incorrectly. The metal part with the 2 grooves is for the microswitch connection, your wiring goes into the small end, either 1 wire or 2 depending on what you are doing. Sorry in advance if I misunderstood you.
