Maximus Arcade Question loading issues
DeLuSioNal29:
Can you access the preferences.exe without that error? If so, try making sure that the "software transitions" button is selected. Although Maximus does work with Vista, Windows XP is recommended due to certain issues with Vista. I believe hardware Open GL transitions was one of them.

Yes, I have software transitions selected. I found that OpenGL was a problem like you were saying. Although this did not seem to fix the force load error. If I can't figure this out, I guess I will just be forced into using mameuifx instead of mameplusplus. I liked mameplusplus 0.119 because it had good video filters as well as 0.119 was a very good version of mame for reading in various ROMS. Mameuifx just does not look as good in my arcade (using LCD monitor). My old XP motherboard system fried in my arcade so I got a new one and made the mistake of getting windows 7. But, maximus arcade seems to be doing ok and things are stable with mameuifx 0.138. I just miss my 0.110 with video filters to make things look crisper on my monitor. I think mameplusplus must be calling openGL from within maximus and it causes issues. But outside of maximus, mameplusplus works awesome on my windows 7 64 bit machine. I could always try another front end, but I really love maximus arcade.

Delusional29,
You are a genius. Thanks so much. It turns out if I run the preferences.exe like you suggested, it scans my rom directories correctly. Only if I do a scan from within the Maximus arcade front end does this cause the error (probably due to openGL issue). I am thrilled that I'm back running again. So if you are running windows 7 with mameplusplus, this is the workaround. You rock!
Thanks again.

Glad I could help.

I am having the same problem. How did you run a scan within the preferences.exe.
I also am running window 7 and maximus arcade 2.10
My Mamepusplus works fine outside of MA but inside MA I get the Script error
