Maximus Arcade Question loading issues

sgreen3827:
I am in the process of building a cabinet and have been playing around with different front end programs and have taken a liking to Maximus Arcade.  I have the trial version downloaded on a PC I have that is running windows XP and it operates fine. When I tried to load it on the PC I have planned for use in the cabinet I get an error mesage saying "Index out of Range, Script Error" and the program will not open.  The PC that is giving me issues is running Windows Vista instead of XP, could this be the reason for the error?  Everything else is set up identically between the two which is why I am a bit stumped. Any insight is appreciated!  Thanks!

Are you running the 32-bit, or the 64-bit version of MS Windows Vista?  ???

I also got this error whilst trying to set up the latest version of MA on my 32-bit Vista.

I found that the problem was that I had the 'Remove brackets [] and parenthesis...' option enabled.
As soon as I made sure this was unchecked for all the emulators currently in my Display Order, everything booted up fine.

But I'm sure there's probably more than one 'script error' that can occur... this is just how I fixed mine.

Hope it helps

do you have the right screen resolution in the settings? Make sure the themes are in the folder.  If all else fails, download another copy.. make sure the resolution is set fine.  Make sure you have it set to not show any warning. and at least setup one emulator.  Then try it.

I'm getting the same error.  In my case, I am having trouble trying to use mameplusplus on windows 7 64 bit.  I can run mameplusplus perfectly outside of maximus arcade.  I use to run mameplusplus on my old XP machine and it worked perfectly with maximus arcade.  But, I can't seem to figure this one out.  I tried making my rom directory so that it only has one rom it (but anytime I do a force load, it gives me the script error).  If I point to a different mame like mameuifx, it works within maximus arcade just fine.  Please tell me more about the screen resolution issue.  Perhaps my mameplusplus has a different resolution?  How do I fix this?

Thanks.
