That's awesome for all of you.  Fortunately, even saint can vouch that I did indeed try and contact the guy, and more than one person said "keep trying, he's awful at returning e-mails because this is a side business for him".

I don't doubt scott's work is awesome.  I wouldn't know because I instead decided to send my cash to a scammer.  Oddly enough, I got the same result from each person, artwork doctor's just cost $120 more.  ;D

So please note that I am not complaining about mamemarquees quality, or in any way shape or form calling him a crook (which obviously he is not).  What I AM saying is he really should get a business e-mail or something, or maybe from time to time, some dooshbag idiot such as myself might come along and complain about it.   :dunno
shateredsoul:
or hire someone to help with e-mails.  Not sure how this would cost. but I  it doesn't take too long to train someone and have them help. Maybe even a family member, cousin, nephew could do this (a teenager would cost less )

Or put a message on the site that says "I do not sit watching my Inbox 24/7, since I am one person (with a life).  Please allow 2-3 days for me to respond to your emails."

Well, I spent about a month trying to get him, so maybe alter that a bit?  ;D

AGAIN, NOT A POST AGAINST SCOTT!!! FOCUS PEOPLE!!
mwong168:
I've dealt with Scott only once last year in June/July 2009 and initially it took a while for me to establish initial contact with him via email.  I sent him 1-2 emails to start with some questions which I thought were pretty simple to answer but didn't get a response after a few days and a week so I feel everyone's pain.  But there was another thread I was monitoring at the time about artwork and scott did post in there every few days so I made a comment in there asking him to check for any emails from my email addy.  Maybe my email did get filter to his SPAM folder because the next day I got a reply to my previous email and I pretty much had to repeat this cycle of posting in a thread every time I sent Scott an email and didn't get a reply after 1-2 days.  Then I finally asked him about why he takes so long to respond to emails and it is not like I am asking him to write me a story or be my pen pal, a simple yes or no would suffice for some of my questions.  So here is what replied to my question about responding to emails:

As far as how quickly I respond, my priorities are:

1) Printing the orders at the highest quality possible
2) Packing and Shipping and getting them out the door
2) Respond to the simple questions
3) Respond to the more complex questions and work on customer requests (where you were...)

I know it is not ideal, as far as a business model, and the custom request are about 10% of my business (not including customer designed items) but that 10% takes up 50% of my time with emails and mockups.

it is just too bad because a lot of the people I have referred over to him have gotten so frustrated at not getting any response that they went elsewhere for their artwork.  Which I suppose is fine because no money was collected which would be even worse when you pay and then literally get ignored.  It is unfortunate because his work is top notch and his customer service in my one dealing with him was excellent and quick to rectify any problems.  He printed my marquee with the MAME logo but on the wrong background and he shipped me the proper replacement a week later free of charge which I thought was very nice.

Here is some sample of what I ordered from him

Control panel artwork applied

The polycarbonate laminate or whatever material he uses is very durable and beats having to protect artwork that is printed on high quality paper with plexi.  Here is the reason why I ordered from him because I had these dynamo control panels from my friend who had the artwork printed from Scott so I was sold

I was going to use him again back in December for my bartop art but didn't get a reply for almost 2 weeks so I managed to source out someone local to print on a high gloss adhesive paper for my side art, control panel and marquee for $60 cash so I just decided to give it a try.  Needless to say I am happy but could be happier with Scott's work but the frustrations of playing email tag but really the cost of the product and shipping sort of put it out of my budget I had intended for my bartop.

My post is not to knock or promote Scott but just simply listing my experience in my one time dealing with him.  I was skeptical at first but my friend with the dynamo control panels said just be patient and once I finalized everything with Scott via email regarding dimensions of the artwork the rest of the process went very smooth.  If you read this Scott sometimes a simple reply can go such a long way in maintaining a professional business relationship and future repeat business.
