Gauntlet Legends pedestal and control panel

I agree 200 is steap...but i just threw that out there, because I'm just going off this...

If it is just the pedestal and control panel, no electronics, nothing...then yeah...say 50-75...

You're local to me and apparently missed out on those free showcases I was talking about. Perhaps you weren't that lucky after all.  ;)

Thanks for the replies.  The guy was selling the entire showcase cab with nothing inside of it except the 33" screen for 300.  I asked him if he would part out just the control panel and pedestal and he told me to make an offer.  I was planning on replacing the control panel face and putting new buttons and joysticks on.  I was going to wire it to 2 gamecube pcb's and use it with my Wii to play emulated console games as well as SDL MAME Wii.  The guy is in Atlanta and I was considering picking it up when I went back home next week.

I dont think I am going to get the unit.  I just found a Ms Pacman / Galaga cabaret locally and I am about to go pick it up now.  The guy is trading for my PS3 which I dont even play.  I guess this will do for now, but I would like to play horizontal jamma games tho.  I was still considering to pick up the pedestal and control panel to save for a future project, but I think I am just gonna focus on the cabaret for now.  I will post a thread for that when I return.

If it were me, I wouldn't buy a pedestal that had no useful parts.  If you are planning on replacing the joysticks, CP top, repainting, more buttons, etc, you aren't saving yourself that much time/money over just building the thing from scratch.  Well, I might pay up to $25 if it included the T-molding in the correct color for me AND included a coin door (if that matters).  A pedestal isn't that difficult to build, so it's not worth that much IMO.

On the other hand, I must admit that both of my cabinets cost me nothing, so I may just be cheap!   :cheers:

I think you did good to avoid the pedestal.  The 49 way sticks make using it for MAME a pain, I never did get around to it.  The Gauntlet Legacy parts I built the cabinet for included the large monitor that was medium resolution only, another pain to use for MAME.  The showcase cabs take up a huge amount of space both in width and length, so if you're planning on collecting more than one cabinet I'd stay away.
