anyone know how to repair tv's??
« on: November 16, 2003, 02:36:32 pm »
the tv in my cab has stopped working...

when turned on, the screen is black apart from an orange horizontal line running through the center of the screen (1 pixel high)
also, the speakers on the tv stop working, you just get a crackly noise coming from them

anyone know what might cause this/what to look for

cheers guys

ps, its been doing this for a while, but before i could just give the tv a whack, and it'd come back on...
hitting it doesn't do the trick anymore though!  hehe

When the Germans bombed the British, the British ducked.
When the British bombed the Germans, the Germans ducked.
When the Americans started bombing, everyone ducked!

Pretty much anything could cause that. I'd say you should first look for bad solders if hitting it worked first. Also look if any caps have leaked or transistors are burnt. Fixing a TV isn't easy if you don't have a lot of electrical knowledge.
