Title: marquee on the cheap
Post by: vusteveii on July 23, 2003, 05:12:40 pm
My project is running a little over budget but its starting to get to the finishing/artwork stages, i've got a pretty decent hp inkjet, would i be better off printing my marquee on photopaper and sandwhiching it between two pieces of plexi or getting a transparency and doing the sandwhiching, or is there some third route that would be good and can be done with a standard high quality inkjet.

You plan on printing in sections and sticking it all together? What's the size of the marquee?

i havent made it yet, but it will be something like 8x24, ive heard you can get longer sheets of photopaper, else ill make it in 2 or 3 pieces.

The banner paper does exist.  Try to get that and then put white tagboard behind it, so the light shines through properly.  It should look just fine.

Where can you buy such paper? Does it only work with specific printers or will any inkjet printer work?

I wonder if it would feed properly through the laser printer at work...

I think almost any office store would have it - like office max.
