Title: EM Shuffle Bowler - Help!! Startup sequence & schematics
Post by: acebh on December 31, 2009, 10:08:10 pm
Recently bought several United EM shuffle bowlers that included a 1976 Seville & 1976 Emerald Shuffle Bowling Alley.  Have the manual for the Emerald, but no schematics.  Also no documentation for the Seville.

Had the Seville 75% working (and we started at nothing working so that was a huge achievement!).  Took a coin, started a game.. could switch between the types of games and actually play a game.  Scoring wasn't 100% and one of the pins wouldn't trigger, but felt good to see some life out of it.  Anyway, while testing the Seville something must have happened to a connection involved in the reset routine and now when starting a game the pin motor and score motor keep running and game over won't go away unless the game over or start relay are manually triggered.

Emerald increments credit unit but won't start a game.

Does anyone have experience with these machines & know of a general start-up sequence.. or have schematics for either?

Contact Steve Young at Pinball Resource. He should have the schematics.

Well, a stupid question but are you sure the coin switch isn't getting stuck closed? If they are old leaf switches you might want to check that. I've seen that with the symptoms you are describing.

Unreal I'm in just about the same position.Had my chicago coin gayety just about there, same deal with the scoring.Went to clean it up and now I can't select a game and won't go past 1st shot. From the info I found it sounds like the zero position switch on the score reel is dirty or mis-adjusted. I got this info from pinball repair em arcade games(this old pinball) that's the best I found.Don't buy the video it's no help you can have mine if you want. The games are suppose to be almost the same so I think the switches to look at are the bottom two at the home position when your in home position. The web site also has the start up info, hope it helps let me know maybe we can work together. Can you tell me what is in the manual they don't make one for my game. Please let me know how you make out
