Title: Wirelessly transmitting jukebox to stereo
Post by: RetroBorg on December 17, 2009, 04:01:09 am
I'm thinking about making a simple jukebox like this:

Out of wood though and using buttons, not touch screen.

Anyway I want to somehow transmit the music from the jukebox to my stereo and not use cables.

Any suggestions or recommendations from anyone as to what to use to do this?

I'm just buying one today myself!

Any A/V sender should work fine! I am debating getting one that is expandable or has more than 1 receiver in case i want it to play in another room in the future.

Thanks for replying Nacimroc, I had thought of AV sender but now I'm leaning towards a USB powered FM transmitter like this:

I'm hoping someone here has experience with something like this and can tell me whether they are okay.

Using a touchscreen is such a better experience when using a jukebox than buttons in my opinion.   If you make something as nice as that aluminum jukebox in your picture then putting a bunch of buttons on it or a number pad on it seems like it would not be the best solution.

Just trying to talk you into a touchscreen I guess  .....    :P

You're probably right UncleT but the missus has me on a tight budget and I already have a spare monitor, push buttons and an old computer, so this project is just going to cost me the price of some wood, some wireless transmitter and an I-Pac.

By the way I've really enjoyed your projects over the years.

Thanks.

For the cost of a touchscreen it's well worth it, i'm with uncle T

Touchscreens aren't real cheap in Australia.
