Title: Mounting 27" D9800 Advice
Post by: Batfink91 on December 09, 2009, 04:57:57 pm
Can anyone give any advice on the best way to mount this monitor please? This is a link to my actual arcade cabinet built by Turnarcades which I am picking up on Saturday.  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=97544.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=97544.0)

Also, do you have to have glass installed over this monitor or is this just a personal preference thing?

Thanks

The best way is probably to get one of those adjustable arcade monitor mounts.  They attach to the sides of your cab and adjust to the size of your monitor.  Can't find a link just right now, but you should be able to find them with some searching.

I didn't know these existed, so I just glued and screwed wood supports to my cab and fastened the monitor to them.  Here's a pic showing the bottom 2 supports.  I also added two on the top in the same fashion.  Seems pretty solid to me.

Glass is a personal preference.  You might want it for authenticity, but you'll even see a lot of cabs out in the wild that don't have any glass on them.
