Title: GOLDEN TEE 2005 red board kit. I need advice
Post by: Brutal E on December 08, 2009, 09:07:10 pm
GOLDEN TEE 2005 red board kit.

I just purchased the kit. It is the board, hard drive, power supply, and marquee. I am new to arcades but I am very good at this kind of stuff.

1.What will I need to set it up, specifically wiring harness, multiple I am assuming?
2.What do I need to do to update this to Complete?
3.Where can I get the update?
4.What is a power bypass harness for? (Saw it listed among parts.)
5.What is the highest monitor setting this will run at? (Thought I saw somewhere it only does medium.)
6. Can I find the manual for it somewhere online? (I found a link for a pdf but it was dead.)

Thank you for your time this is going to be a pedestal to place in front of a LCD. Or pre-fab cabinet with 19 or 26 inch LCD in it.

A buying spree. My parts so far.

I'm not an expert, but since nobody is piping in I'll take a stab at it.

1. Think you need the JAMMA harness, plus the stuff that comes with the kit.
2. You need the GT Complete kit. There was someone saying this was hacked and they were able to upgrade existing setups to work with just a cloned Complete hard drive. Think it might have been BS though, people had bad experiences with the dude making the claims.
3. Ebay
4. This is one I'm not 100%, but GT doesn't pull its power from JAMMA. The power supply leads go right to the motherboard.
5. Medium Res. The brand new machines will run at higher res, the Fore! series does Standard and Medium.
6. I have a PDF of the manual. Drop me a PM if you want me to e-mail it to you.
