Title: Will most 27" crt diag. fit inside 26" wide decased?
Post by: KapnKerfuffle on November 02, 2009, 07:15:34 pm
I'm on the hunt for a 27" or 25" TV to replace the "small" 20" computer monitor in my cab (doesn't feel small when I lift it >.<) .  My cabinet is pretty much the default dimensions found in John St. Clair's book.  The opening is 26" wide exactly.

If I yank the case off, will most 27" TVs fit?

I am not sure if this will help, but please check out the dimensions as follows http://niemandisplays.com/monitor%20mechanical%20dims.pdf (http://niemandisplays.com/monitor%20mechanical%20dims.pdf)
These are the dimensions for our open frame monitors and dimension "A" should be close even on a decased TV.

Hope it helps!!

Thanks Rick!  That helps a lot.  Looks like it might be a squeaker!  I can't believe CRT's are getting so hard to find.  25" with s-video would be perfect, but I can't find one.
