Title: Arcade monitor SYNC question..
Post by: JoeB on July 17, 2003, 12:13:56 am
I'm currently in the wiring stage of my MAME arcade, and I noticed something strange in the way my WG 25K7191 is wired up (from its previous life as an Xmen: Children of the atom arcade machine)

For this monitor, the hookups are as follows:

Pinouts of P1 are

Red
Green
Blue
Gnd
+Vert Sync
+Horiz Sync

Pinouts of P2 are

Gnd
-Vert Sync
-Horiz Sync

Well, I got wires going to P1 (R, G, B and GND) and I got a single wire going to P2.  This wire wraps around both the -vert and -horiz sync (i.e. combining the 2) and it goes back to the JAMMA harness and plugs into SYNC.

Is this normal?? Is this OK the way it is once I plug it into my I-PAC (and ArcadeVGA in turn) ??

Thanks in advance.

Combining the -Hsync & -Vsync is a standard JAMMA setup and is compatible with the ArcadeVGA.

For more info, see http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainst.html and http://www.ultimarc.com/monfaq.html#monitorcable.

FWIW, I have my W-G connected to an ArcadeVGA with just the -Hsync connection to the monitor (because that's how the monitor harness already was) and it works fine.
