Title: best way to report a possible bug (without registering on mametesters?)
Post by: Beretta on September 29, 2009, 03:02:38 pm
i found this beat'em up called night slashers.
it's kinda interesting anyway my typical routine is to check out dip's and service menu when ever i play a new game.

i noticed some problems.

it's a 2/3 player selectable game, 3 buttons  + start..

when in 3 player mode player 1 & 2 start buttons are disabled.. all 3 players use attack button for start.

mame has a input labeled player 3 start, but there is no player 3 start it's actually coin 3

so player 3 start needs to be relabeled coin 3.

also there is a setting to enable 4 coin mechs.. but there is no coin 4 input in mame, even though there is a 4th coin input in the games switch test.

also this may not be a bug but in the service menu it shows coin/credit options (1coin 1credit).. there is no way to change the credits per coin setting.. perhaps there was dip's for coinage? if so they're missing from mame there is no dip menu.

whats the best way to report this without registering to report on mametesters? i dont wanna sign up for something i'll probably never use again.

as for the missing options, they might be in the service menu rather than physical dipswitches.

nope, only options you can effect coinage in service menu is

2 credit start (premium start) yes/no
and free play.

i guess it's possible there is no adjustments to coin/credit
but there is a menu that says 1 coin / 1 credit, it's just not adjustable, it's where you would flip free play on/off

i could not find a manual for the game.

found another bug, there is volume adjustment in service menu (0-255) but it has no effect on the sound volume in mame, even when doing a hard reset (f3+shift).

Who cares if you never use the site again? It's quick and easy. In the time you've spent on this thread you could have already had the bug entered into their database. ;D
