I got a SEGA Print club Cabinet, (picture attached). anyone know anything about them, or converted / restored them? tried finding info on web, but nothing of major use. I got this for free, so I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with it. Thoughts? suggestions? comments?
anything you can offer would help. and thanks....

Weird. Does it have a game board or anything, and if so, what?
-
mine has a sega st-v board, the cartridge is showing error. probably a stupid question, but I could basically use the board to play any available cartridge correct? just need to wire controls differently. I agree it's pretty wacky looking cab, but it's solid metal, well built. I'll see what I can do.

I would convert it... could be a cool looking cab with a new paint job, control panel, etc.

+1
The CP angle looks like a wrist breaker though.

Wrist breaker? For sure, it's an odd looking cabinet in the front, too bad because it's solid. I stared at the control panel area for about 20mins trying to figure a way to change the setup and make it 'different'. I'm sure there is a way, if not, I'll put it throught the 'chop-shop' and pillage it for parts, has a good color monitor, although this cabinet uses a mirror system, it's flat in the cab and there is a mirror it projects to. We'll see, I'll definately post the project if I figure a way to make it look not so weird up front, and able to play without getting carpeltunnel(sp?).....

What would happen if you cut the rivets/bolts in front and and back of that CP? Looks like the whole thing assembly would come out then. At that point you would end up having to fabricate your own. Probably about the same amount of work modifying the existing CP.

yes, definately would do so, kind of an odd cabinet, but for its intended purpose, it suits. It's kind of narrow, and the monitor sits high up and horizontal(mirrored), it would be a challenge, have to sit in front of the thing and do some brainstorming, but it could be done....we'll see.....definately no use in it's current state, for gaming atleast. I guess thats why i scored it for free....

I can almost visualize that cabinet as a jukebox ......

Should have a camera setup and a small printer inside. I think it was meant to print stamp sized stickers of those standing if front of it. That must be what is plastered all over the top of the cab.
-
yes, everything works except for the cartridge error it gives....i do not know why anyone would want such small pictures.....guess there is a market for everything......someplace....

I agree, it would work well for that. It obviously would take some major modifications to make it into a playable MAME cab.
