Greetings,
My good friend Mark recently purchased Rampart, and the control panel was all scratched. So we took it off, and I took a picture of it in my studio, taking extra care to make sure the camera was perfectly square to it (that took a lot of time). I then took it into Photoshop and cleaned up most of the scratches.
We want to vectorize this and reprint it so he can restore his Rampart. He's willing to pay for the conversion. The bricks in the control panel would present the toughest challenge, and I'm not sure if this is even possible. Maybe partially vectorized and partially picture?
This attached image is just a scaled down JPG. I have the original PSD file which is twice as large: 2915 x 1263 pixels.

This one will deseve a bitmap restoration instead of vectorisation. photoshop will be the tool to work on it.
vectorisation of the background will e a nightmare and will induce a los of details and quality.

Best for this is to leave the background in bitmap, and clean it as zorg said.
But, the text and boxes should be added as a vector layer. That way you have the best quality possible from this.
-
right. photoshop can use some vector layers. that's what I suggested photoshop as the tool to go for this kind of artwork

We are willing to hire someone to convert the the items that are convertable to vector.

Your best bet for the text would be do the background in Photoshop and then import the file to Illustrator and do the text with it. While Photoshop does some vectoring, the text isn't one of them. If you want crisp edges on the lettering, used Illustrator for it's vector based text.

I agree, but I don't have the skills yet to vectorize in Illustrator, therefore we are offering this job to someone.
-
Have you got anyone to do this for you yet?
And how much are you offering fto have it done?

Yes thanks. We hired someone to do it. It's finally done after fine tuning it. We are now going to be ordering some prints to me made.
