Hey guys. The most experience I have with wood is just measuring, cutting and making joints. I've never really done alot of sanding and painting, or touching up.
For some reason on the cab I bought, there are some 3/4 inch holes that were drilled on each side of the coin mechanism.

I'm guessing I'll just take some bondo, fill in the holes, sand, prime, and paint. Right? Again I've never done any touch up like this before. I think I want to go ahead and sand all the existing paint off as well and start over. 2x primer and 2-3x black paint for a smooth finish that doesn't look painted.
I could not have started this and would not be able to finish this project with you guys! I appreciate everything!! :notworthy:

Have you thought about just getting 2 bolts to put in the holes?
heck you could even buy the security bar that went across the coin door.
i think it would be a lot less work that having to fill, sand, repaint or relaminate the front.....
-
The two bolts might work, but what about the rest of the areas that needs touched up? That's what I was asking about also.
I'm not looking to do a half job with this, I really want to this look nice as it will be in my home office.

I guess you can also use wood filler but I also see that some use Bondo Body Filler on wood too, so I'm not sure what is best on wood....

I totally missed the scuff marks on my laptop screen. Bondo should work

So I want to go ahead and start sanding and priming but I'm not very knowledgeable on it. I'm going to get a hand sander of course, but what grid sandpaper do I start with?
I want to sand and then prime. Then I hear its good to wet sand (haven't done that either, with a block right?) and prime AGAIN. Then paint, wetsand, paint.
I coudl go look at sanding tutorials online, but considering I'm going for that smooth feel and look and it is for an arcade I want to get it perfect!

Why not get a dowel rod that is the same diameter as the holes and cut off a section and stick it in the hole with some wood glue then just sand it smooth.
-
Great suggestion about the dowel, I'll do that. But I want to sand/prime/paint the WHOLE CAB.
-
Can anyone give me advice on making it look good? As far as what grit sandpaper? Shoudl I wetsand between coats? What type of primer?
VERY new to wood painting. I want it to look smoooooth, like it's not even painted.

It all depends on the amount of work you want to do ;)
Do a search here for piano finish and you should find threads chock full of goodness I heard the term one day and went looking and wow some of the work these folks have done it looks great.
