have a wells gardner 4901 problem which is that i ordered a cap kit for a 4900 series board and the voltage on some caps are lower on the the new caps and higher on the old caps is this ok also the 4901 board looks slightly different than the 4900 board.

Compare the questionable caps to what the manual parts list AND schematic says.
I have seen higher voltage caps installed but the manual called for the lower voltage included in cap kits. Go with the manual when in absolute doubt.

thanks for the link to the manual that helped alot and i have determined that the voltage on the caps on the board is the right voltage.i guess my question is now where can i find a cap kit for a wells gardner 4901,i could order from mouser but im looking for one already put together.thanks

any ideas as to my problem, i was always told that you could go up in voltage but never down in voltage and that uf rating has to stay the same this is true right?

You are absolutely correct.......
Voltage can be HIGHER, but never lower.
uf rating MUST be an exact match.

This should be a K4900 cap list in its entirety.
