Hi for those who program, less Howard! ;D
I was thinking in a way to improve something but since my skills are in graphic design and webdesign, i decided to thread this idea!
How about a credit display in the Front-end and a electronic coin counter software!? :))
It would be nice and look more 'arcadish'! :)

Do you mean like having something at the bottom of the screen which displays the number of credits/coins inserted only when the front-end is on - or even when you are in a game? Not quite understanding your idea. Also I dont think there isn't a way for the front-end to tell the game how many credits have been inserted if that's what you had in mind
eg when in the front end you put in 2 coins, the bottom of the screen says CREDITS:2, when you select a game you'll still have to add credits in the game.
I do agree that it would look more arcade-ish having "CREDITS:2" somewhere on the screen, but maybe you could just incorporate it as an image instead of having to code something. Unless of course you want to make sure people enter credits before they can get into a game - that would be another reason.

Yeah, something like that! :)
And also a option that let's you to see the total coins you inserted since the front-end is installed! :)
For those who like piggy banks! :)

Can't be done at all. Unless you want to inidividually figure out where all 4000 mame roms store their bookkeeping data. As it's been said before with people asking about high scores, dipswitches and other mame saved data, mame has absolutely no standardization when it comes to saving things. It takes a image of the original games eprom and dumps it.
In other words dream on. :)
Oh an if you exclude me out when asking questions I will be sure to reply so don't do that anymore. Let it go dude. :D
