Already posted this in my SW cockpit restoration thread, but thought it would be good to mention this in the monitor section too.
I did the final (edge) convergence on my Amplifone and I figured some of you might like to see how it's done.
As mentioned, this is not a full converging because the center area was already perfect and it's just getting the corners convergence correct.

Very well done.... I really appreciated watching that.
The corners always seem to be the last and hardest thing to get quite right on some tubes.

Hm that may just sound a little dumb but where can you get those white strips?
What are they called?

Very hard to find them. Convergence strips is what they usually are called. I once sent an email to http://www.hawkeyepicturetube.com/ and they said they could deliver them.
Thanks for the compliments guys, I hope to make a video of a full convergence job in the near future....

That's neat. Perhaps one could make their own strips?...although those look plastic coated/encased or something. And I thought having a mirror on hand in these matters was a given?

Yeah I use a mirror for the more "course" adjusting. However, it may be my eyes, it may be the mirror, or it may be that you double the distance you are looking at by looking through a mirror, but for the fine adjustments I prefer to look directly on it whenever possible.

YES! Now I just need to find some of these strips! I have two 19s that have bad corners...
