Title: Quick Controls Question

I just need confirmation before I get crackin'.  I'm in the process of converting a JAMMA cabinet (using a JPAC and ArcadeVGA) to an emulation cab.  For any non-MAME emulator to work with the  JPAC, all I have to do is map the buttons to the MAME defaults, correct?

For example, I would map the NES "B" to L-Ctrl and "A" to R-Alt.  Is this correct?  Thanks.
