Title: Must Have Emulators for Your Cab (Other than MAME of course)..
Post by: Invincer on April 22, 2009, 03:50:49 pm
Hopefully this can help some people decide what emulators for what systems to concentrate on (and in what order of importance) when installing emulators to their cabs. This could be interesting and informative to see the results...

Up to 5 votes each, let me know if I should have included other emulators...

I didn't see any polls like this over there (or over here). I thought this could be quite an interesting poll, simply what 5 emulators would you want or recommend other than MAME for a cab? The results could give an idea of what is most popular  per system and what is most important overall to the people voting. If it should be moved to the software forums, that is fine, but it seemed more appropriate for the reviews forum, at least the results of the voting could be more interesting to people looking for reviews it seemed to me...

Its correct there is many topic about this one, but not a pol, but there exists many emulators out here, which can been quite large for a poll. The emulators I my self choices was these I got to work into my frontend MultiFE, which can seen in the help section (for some systems I choices to support more than one emulator on that profile).

Please Note, Visual Pinball and Future Pinball is NOT a emulator, but itsjust a simulator. PinMame is a emulator which can been connected to Visual Pinall by a script, but its another history.

I'm still a newbie to the emulation scene. I've used Mame for years but not tried much of anything else. However this weekend I tried Nebula for the Sega Model 2 boards just for Daytona USA. Awesome game!!! I played it so much this weekend with my joypad my thumb hurts. Had to stop playing for a while.  :P  Sadly it won't run properly on my CP laptop, so just played it on my desktop. The game is listed in Mame but I couldn't get it working.

I voted for Nebula purely on the basis of that one game. Most successful arcade game ever? (for income to arcades. Pacman for units sold most likely... but I digress)
