Title: Kortek KTA-915 19" blowing fuses at power up
Post by: atomikbohm on April 06, 2009, 04:02:47 am
Recently a Korteck KTA-915 has come into my possession that blows the 1st fuse after the AC in right after you turn it on.  Thanks to Ken I've been able to find a schimatic for a Sharp Image SI 319 which according to Jomac is the same monitor.

With that said even though the schimatic is in english I don't know how to read it much less diagnose why this thing is blowing fuses.

Can anyone offer any advise, suggestions, or help?  ???

Thanks in advance

Check the horizontal output transistor and B+ regulator transistor to see if they are shorted.

Ken, I'm totally embarrised to say this but, how can I identify these transistors?  I recognize the transistor symbol (circle thingy) but I'm not sure how to id the ones you mentioned, i.e. I'm a complete newb.   :dunno

Thanks again.
