Title: Neo Geo MVS power question

I recently bought an MV-1F MVS board that I'm planning on converting into a supergun and I had just one question.

America and Japan both have different voltages then to us down under (Australia). You guys run 110V and we Run at 220V. Do I need a step down converter when I plug in a power supply?

depends on your power supply,some can be switched from 115 to 230,others are free range whereby they work on anything from  85 to 285 and other are set only at 115 or 230

nothing to with the mvs board though

what power supply are you using?

Well I haven't got the board yet, I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to blow up my precious investment.

I was hoping to use just a regular wall wart

You could use a computer AT power supply and flip the voltage switch on the back to 220v from 115v.  :dunno

I run a computer power supply in my MVS  4 Slot machine.

What I did was took all the reds and wired them together and made one connection point.  Took all the Yellows and did the same, and again with the blacks.

Yellow is 12volt
Red is 5volt
Black is ground

This was suggested by Ben at www.benheck.com as he did the same thing with his neo geo 4 slot.   Mine works great, no problems at all..

Regular wall wart? No.

You'll need a regulated power supply - the type for a laptop.

The MVS runs from +5v and +12v. You CAN modify it for +5v only operation. There are instructions out on the tech support section of the neo-geo.com website.
