Hey all,
Just had to show this one off ;)
I've been training a bit in Painter and I always liked the Thwomps from Super Mario.
For the retro fans

You could make some cash doing custom cab/cp art. That's fantastic.
-
Yeah, but custom art always takes more time than you can make back in cash. Unless you can charge by the hour. Now bartering, that is where its at.
-
And forgot the most important part. AWESOME!!!!!
-
Sometimes, it's not about the money.
Great work!

Exactly. Then you can trade your time for someone elses. I love helping people, art is just one of those things that takes a long time and people often take advantage of you. Not necessarily because they are intending to, but they just don't understand that it takes a really long time to finish something exactly as they see it.

Amen to that!!
Awesome "Thwomp" by the way.

Hey thanks for the comments guys.
Yah over the years I have found money and art to be constantly butting heads. My old project manager and I would have weekly tug o wars. "Make it look awesome in 2 hours!"
And although I won't see a cent from that Thwomp it does make me happy.
I need to do some more Painter training. Any suggestions?

Internet tutorials got me started with everything. A good night class at a comunity college is always awesome and gives you a chance to really pick someones brain that knows more than you do. Barnes and noble also has a bunch of books you could take a look at. Not to mention your local library.
In the end. Practice practice practice practice practice.
