Title: Where to hookup the optical rotary on a Cal .50 pcb?
Post by: rolins on March 01, 2009, 02:41:50 pm
Last night I received a Cal .50 (Caliber Fifty). I tested the board and everything checks out: sound, video, and basic controls. I didn't test out the optical rotary function since I didn't have any, but that's where I'm scratching my head. Exactly where on this pcb is the connectors for the optical rotary joysticks? Eventually I want to get some original Loop-24 joysticks, but since they're hard to find I'm thinking of getting Happ ones instead.

They appear to wire into the JAMMA harness pretty much like any other joystick aside from requiring power. (+5v and Ground)
The Loop-24 sticks also use the two "spare" places on the JAMMA harness.

It's all in the manual:

Thanks for the link Kevin. For moment there I thought I just got ripped off.  Glad it ain't so, time to find some optical rotary sticks.
