Title: Maximus Arcade / X-Arcade Tankstick problems
Post by: garnerb350 on February 17, 2009, 01:11:50 pm
I've encountered this when I was setting my cab up...Did a  search on Maximus Forums...saw where the question was asked but nothing was discussed...

Somehow the Tankstick causes Maximus Arcade to lockup...especially when trying to exit games...Has anything more been found or is a fix being made?

If nothing isnt fixed soon...then i will be forced to find another frontend...

Its breaking my heart, because Maximus is easy setup for my pinballs and SK jukebox...

yea I have that same problem too, but i've been kind of lazy lately to try to fix it.  I have just been using mame32 and just clicking on the games again, it sucks because maximus makes the cabinet look that much more authentic but its also a pain with the tankstick.  I always wanted to try mamewah but suck with computers.  I figured if I can't even get maximus to run right how the hell can I get mamewah to work, lol.

Give GameEx a shot.  That's what I'm using and I love it. :applaud:

I recently switched to MA to test it out (l love the clean look). But you might like AtomicFE it's pretty darn good too; and setup is a snap.

MA is a great frontend.... It is simple and ready to go....I learned how to customize the graphics to my liking easily....but I was so stumped and ill when I got my x-arcade and found out all the problems running the two together...Hopefully one day they will straighten it out and I can go back to it...

There is another one out there called mGalaxy.  That thing is pretty much idiot proof.  The only bad thing is that it hasn't really been updated for a while and there isn't any customization with it.  It's way better than MAME32 though.

I believe the guys over at X-Arcade confirmed that it was a NUMLOCK issue in Windows.  Make sure your BIOS disables the NUMLOCK key.

edit: [Thanks for the correction BYOC member: Red]

I believe the guys over at X-Arcade confirmed that it was a CAPS LOCK issue in Windows.  Make sure your BIOS disables the Caps Lock key.

I thought it was that Numlock needs to be disabled in the BIOS?

Which is it?

Thanks for the update DeLuSioNal29

@ garnerb350
type "disable NUMLOCK in BIOS" in google and you'll get about about 1000+ examples on how to do that.
