Title: 1977 Gottlieb Vulcan repair manual needed * NOW WORKING *
Post by: Cyberflexx on February 03, 2009, 01:53:21 pm
At work, I have aquired 2 pinball machines for FREE but they are to be used at work, only for the associates.  One is a Gottlieb 300 that is in pretty good shape other than the front part of the cabinet where the coin door is.  The other is a 1977 Gottlieb Vulcan.
I turned it on, and it clicked for ever, then the reels reset fine and a fuse blew.  It then smoked from the relay bank in the bottom of the cabinet.

Does anyone here have a PDF of the repair / part manual that they are willing to share?

Thanks

Here is a pic of the "300"

Gottlieb manuals are not available in pdf format nor are they available to download. The Gottlieb family is very protective of their copyrights.

You can either buy a licensed reproduction manual from www.pbresource.com or look for used originals on ebay. If you need Gottlieb parts, you'd have to buy those from Pinball Resource too.

The Gottlieb Development LLC lawyers read all the forums and newsgroups looking for infringers. They do not allow pdf or downloaded manuals since they have a licensed seller of hard copies at www.pbresource.com

I would be very carefull and only deal with licensed/authorized Gottlieb dealers.

Let me fix that statement for you - what you meant was:

The Gottlieb Development LLC lawyers Steve Young reads all the forums and newsgroups looking for infringers.

Why are you arguing this point? Wink, nod, and move on.  :dizzy:

He's in it to make money (and he's a rude jackass) - period.

I won't argue either of those points.  ;D

I'll give him a pass on the rude jackass part though, because it just comes natural for New Yorkers.

I did do a search for this yesterday, and found pretty much every Gottlieb manual EXCEPT for Vulcan.  ;D

Yeah no dice here either..

If you come across a good scan of the plastics, let me know.  I need to make a reproduction of one of the slingshots.  I snapped mine into peices when the vertical playfield slipped outta my hand, then slammed the wall..

I confirmed the Pin is mine.. for free.  My boss is going to help me troubleshoot the relays, and I fund the repairs, then he will help me take it home in his truck.

A very special thanks goes to a nice guy named Brian ( who i randomly found on the net by going through old forums) who was kind enough to send me the scans of his Vulcan and some pictures of the relay banks and such.  I was able to find where my wires were suppose to be soldered and the pin now plays!!!  WOOO HOOO!

I noticed the P1 score reel in the 1,000 place didnt work, then of a sudden it started working, I am guessing the sparks burnt off the dust and is now making a better connection???

The 5bank drop targets is having a problem, only 3 of the register, I am going to check the ground wire on them later today..

Brian also has a playfield, that I purchased off him, since mine is very very bad.

Here are a couple pictures..

Not bad for machine that was given to me!!!!

I dont know if Brian uses this forum, but THANKS AGAIN!
