I just saw the advertisement for CSI Pinball by Stern in Gameroom magazine...
...can someone say DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT?
Ironic that the month Grissom(sp?) leaves the show the pinball with him center-stage on the backglass appears?
-
It will also be sold rebadged to '24'.
-
HAH! I don't even know what CSI is, a movie or a show...
-
The 24 was advertised by "Pinball Jack" in Gameroom magazine. I think it was just a coming soon advert though.
-
Saw the CSI when I was in Vegas last week. In fact the whole front row of the Pin Hall of Fame was mostly new sterns - Dark Knight, WOF, CSI, Shrek, bunch of Sterns I hadn't seen before in person (Spiderman was just new last time I was there).
For the first time in many visits, I didn't drop a single quarter in a Stern. The more I play them, the less I like them.
-
Personally I play Sterns but man oh man for the price there is a lot better out there.
TSSP & LOTR are super sweet I gotta admit.
Spidey has good color contrast & sure is shiny tho 8)

I swear, I must be the only person on earth who thinks TSPP is a snoozer. I've played it a few times, and it never engaged me. I've also played it plenty in pinmame to the same results.
-
I think it's a clunkfest that's got a reworked South Park playfield. Seriously - compare their playfields.
I was actually going to add that to my comment, but didn't.
-
I couldn't put my finger on it but that's exactly what it is!
It seems that they really did just rework the South Park design.

You guys are nutty. There are 100 other pairs of games with more similar playfields than those 2 games. Such as every game Lawlor has designed since Whirlwind.

My dislike and boredom with Lawlor designs has been documented before.

YAY! Look! Another gigantic inkjet art behind lexan pieced together toy on a Stern!!! Oh joy!
That is a horrible license. Maybe 5 years ago it would have been good, but it is pointless now. And I can't be the only one who thinks it is all kinds of 'wrong' to have Chloe so prominently displayed all over the machine.
-
And what's with the ugly woman? Yikes.
Good ol' Chloe. At least they went with season 6-7 Chloe. She looked really bad in her first season.

37? Sheesh.
...disregard my above comment. She looked better in season 3. :o
-
I can only imagine they have chloe on there because other than Jack, she is the only one who is consistently in the show from year to year. But still, you could just leave her out and leave Jack on there solo.
-
Tony has been there longer.

Regardless... my statement was directed to those who think TSPP and South Park are the same playfields. As far as pinballs go, their playfields are pretty damned different.
And... this "dislike and boredom" is coming from someone who's admitted to liking at least 3 Lawlor pins. Hmm.... Closet Lawlor fan?? :)

Yes, I like the Funhouse THEME, and it has nostalgic response. Actually I don't like the play of that pin.
I don't like Whirlwind much. Theme is cool, but gameplay sucks.
Ripleys sucks.
Twilight Zone is 'okay', only because of the sheer number of toys. There is zero flow to that game.
Nascar sucks.
Red & Ted's is okay, but I've only played it a few times. Odds are my like would wane because I don't like the shot layout.
RCT is 'okay'. I would like to play one that isn't broken to have better judgement.
I'll give you Addam's Family though. I forgot he did that one. I do truly like it. Back when I did my review before, I hated it.
So, I LIKE one game, and 'want' another game for reasons other than play.
He has a specific shot layout that he copies from game to game. I suppose all designers fall into this trap though.
