Title: Anybody have a Nokia E71 or other S60 O/S phone? What GPS software to use?
Post by: dmworking247 on January 02, 2009, 08:06:57 pm
I've recently bought a Nokia E71 phone with the S60 3rd edition O/S on it.

In Australia (where I am) Nokia charges a subscription service for their inbuilt "Nokia Maps" GPS service... which I find rediculous, especially since I only use GPS on the odd occassion.

Does anybody else have the same/similar phone? What GPS software do you run on it? From what I've read, various software packages (eg TomTom) have problems recognising the inbuilt GPS and are expecting some sort of external GPS (via bluetooth).

You need to ditch that and get a proper HTC phone like the Orbit.....

But follow this link for some clues to solving your problem:
