Title: Gremlin Blasto 1978 Worth restoring??
Post by: Fig on November 24, 2008, 09:31:29 pm
Hi! Just got this from a friends friend that was going the put it in the trash. The cab is in really nice shape but I really dont know what its worth to tell you the truth Ive never heard of this game  ???. So my question is should I gut it and make it a super nice MAME cocktail or restore it??? Oh the only thing wrong is the vert hold need to get a new pot.
Here are some pics

I have never seen one like that.
I personally would keep it as is .... that thing looks mint too.

Maybe copy the table design for use as a MAME design, but I wouldn't hack that one up.
Kinda reminds me of the four player Pong tables, but nicer.

Oh the only thing wrong is the vert hold need to get a new pot.

seems a shame to mame it if that's all it needs...looks like it's in super shape...!

Dude, that thing is super clean, and appears to be in fantastic shape.

If anything, perhaps you could donate it to Funspot?

Yeah, you can't MAME that.  :D

Its in fantastic shape and if that pot is the only problem, that machine can't go to waste. Doesn't sound like that hard of a fix if that truly is the only problem.

That would make a crappy mame machine anyway.  It looks like you DID restore it.  If you need a cab to mame that bad, and are anywhere near me, I'll trade you a good one for that to keep it safe.  Hell I'll bring you to a local warehouse and let you pick what you want.

Holy crap, that looks brand new inside and out from the pictures!

Post your location so someone here can find you a collector to buy it from you.

Wow, there's not even any dust on the monitor tube!  Has that thing ever been turned on?  Is there a counter in the coin door you can check?

As the others have said, you should not mame that.  It looks like it would be a good two-player game for parties (no problem finding a place for your beer!), with a one-player option as a bonus.  Not too many of those games, I think.

I'd also be interested in knowing your location.  I'll find you a mame cab, if that's what you really want...   :)

Anyone have an idea on reasonable value for this guy?  It's not a whole lot in this market but in that condition he should be able to pull at least a couple hundred.

Nice! Belongs in a museum or a nice big safe collection... Sounds like a fun 2 player game too (for its time)

Not much on klov, but I guess it's not a clone of something: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7147

Looks like new !  I've seen many of likewise machines, but this one is very nice. I like the metal rims around the table and bezel. Also there's actually some artwork around.

Definitely keep and "restore" it...

Well I guess its uninamous I will not MAME it. I all ready have a stand up MAME just thinking a cocktail cab would be nice to add to the collection. I dont think I'm going to keep it so if someone wants it or knows someone that would like to add it to there collection I'm up for trades. My location is 49250, Michigan I will try to get a video of it running in the next day or so.
Thank-you for all of your input
