What is this vote thing you speak of? I have never heard of such a term. Is a new slang term for copulating? Kids these days...they call things the most odd names. GET OFF MY LAWN!!

I'm voting for Chancellor Palpatine.

I don't like his VP candidate.  I wouldn't drink a beer with that guy.

If you can't drink a beer with someone, they definitely don't deserve to be in office.

Yeah but the chancellor has experience.  He knows how to start and end a galactic civil war while shooting lightning from his hands.  What if he found a new apprentice running mate?

Maybe Saint could be VP?

Screw that weak piece of crap. He has the power to shoot lightning, lift massive objects, control an entire galactic army with his will, etc. Yet with all of that, he can't catch himself from falling down a frikkin ventilation shaft with the force? Come ON!

I blame a weak plot line.  Good had to triumph over evil blah blah blah.  We just need to keep ventilation shafts away from him.

I voted.
I couldnt believe that Saint was not on the ballot.
I figured there must have been some kind of mistake, so I went ahead and wrote in his name.

We need a leader who can be soft when appropriate but can kick some serious ass when needed.  We need Chuck Norris.

Countries do not elect Chuck Norris president.  Chuck Norris elects countries he will lead.

Four years ago I would check a map every 10 minutes and get a vote by vote of the count, this election it seems like they've put a black out on the whole thing.

In Singapore you only vote if you approve of the ruling party. Opposition is just non-existent.

Congratulations with your new president America.

However, I don't envy Obama a bit:

He's faced with the largest government debt in history (while Bill Clinton left with the largest surplus in history).
He's faced with a war that can't be won, but can't be afforded to loose either.
He's faced with a country that lost faith in politicians.
He's faced with a world that has the lowest appreciation for the US ever.

I seriously hope that he _can_ change all that for the benefit for the US people.

[Edit] Note that this is NOT a political post, I'm merely stating the facts.

I went to do just as you said. Today I went to the voting place, and oddly enough, there was noone there and it was closed. There was someone who was walking by who told me Obama already won. I dont see how he could have, seeing as how I hadn't voted yet. I am planning on breaking into the voting place next week and placing my vote for Nader. That way he will win.

Keep it in P & R.

fixt

Considering all of the problems Obama is going to be expected to "change" I wonder if he actually won anything at all.   :-\

Well, he'll get a free mansion (after leaving the White House), free office space and a helluva pension for the rest of his life.  So succeed or fail, it's not a bad gig   ;D

I'm not in P & R and for a reason.

Are you saying that anywhere in that short list there is something untrue ? I'm not saying who I think is responsible for those facts (altough of course I have my ideas), I'm just saying that this is what he gets handed over...

Anyway, no P & R here

This is the one place I come to where I am glad not to discuss P & R, and choose not to join the forum of the same name for that reason.

Any political discussion, no matter the nature, is something I wish to avoid here (mainly because I don't want it to change my opinion of others, plus there's enough arguing everywhere else online).

If your talking about politics, whether your stating facts or opinions, it's still talking about politics.

Ah ... I see now.... thanks Saint ... but no thanks.
I was just curious as to if there was some discussion going on over there. (which I'm sure there is)
But I don't desire to get involved that badly.

Not that obscure around here. We're mostly geeks, which means the likelyhood of being Douglas Adams fans is high. ;D

Then why reply to it after fourteen and a half hours of inactivity (thus bumping it to the top)? Just let it get pushed off the front page.

To get a political thread in the wrong forum locked and/or moved and/or deleted. Duh!
