It's either me, or the Simpsons show.
I haven't watched it all season, because it's been tiresome the last few seasons. I figured the Halloween episode would be the best chance.
I shant waste any more of my time on that show.

It's the Simpsons. I used to love the show too, but I haven't watched for about 5 years now. I think it's time for it, and Saturday Night Live, to finally end.

I dunno. The whole "Simpsons is getting old" mantra has been going on for a decade now. SNL's has been going on since the 80's.
Yeah, some episodes are weaker than others but I still enjoy the show, more than pretty much any other program. It's not as fresh, sure, but I still laugh. Good enough. I stopped expecting "golden age" caliber episodes a long, long time ago and I appreciate it for what it is. Then again, I have a rabid fan dedication to it that's hard to dislodge. :burgerking:

I hear that. Ive grown up with The Simpsons. Thats been the only constant piece of TV besides the CBS Evening News. Hell, its older than me!

I'm old, this thread is boring.

I haven't ever religiously watched The Simpsons. I used to watch the syndicated (rerun) form of it though.
The thing that REALLY irritates me about the show is that they always show the halloween special AFTER Halloween. That really irritates the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of me. Why don't they air it the Sunday before Halloween, you know, when people are actually still excited about the holiday. The way they do it is the equivalent of watching It's a Wonderful Life in July.

They used to but ever since Fox started airing the World Series, The Simpsons had to take a backseat. Actually, the season used to not start until November. Thankfully, they've gone back to September premiers.

Simpsons at 20 still > World Series.

People here are so spoiled they were actually relieved when the Sox lost game 7 of the ALCS. Apparently watching your team win a world championship is a burden now.

Simpsons at 20 still > World Series.
Not financially for Fox, unfortunately. ;)
-
Simpsons is still consistently funnier than 99.9% of TV programming.
Admittedly, it's still sad to see episodes from seasons 2-4 and realize how far the show has fallen.... :'(
Agreed.

I was watching some of the rerun Halloween episodes they were showing and one of them started with Kodos and Kang in a spaceship talking about how dumb it is that they're having a Halloween episode in November.
-
Last year's Simpsons was probably the weakest, with really out of character storylines and weak humor. My theory is the good talent was distracted working on the movie. Alas this season is back to "good enough" standards it was maintaining before that dreadful season.

I vaguely remember that line. That was probably the last halloween special I ever watched.

There is a torrent floating around with all of the Treehouse of Horror episodes and nothing else. It is good.

SNL has been going since the 70s. It's almost as old as some of us here.
