Title: Where do I get a button map for drilling joystick+buttons
Post by: nickynooch on October 21, 2008, 09:42:54 pm
I'm doing the basic "street fighter" layout.  6 buttons on each, 2 joysticks.

I'm looking for basically a printout so I can put it over my control panel so I know where to drill so everything is lined up evenly.  Where can I find one?

I'm sure this has been covered, but no luck so far in the hunt.  Thanks as always for all your guys help!

Link seems dead current, but this one had a bunch of pictures in it, and was the basis of much discussion a while back.  http://www.kowal.itcom.pl/ArcadeParts_pliki/Projekt.htm (http://www.kowal.itcom.pl/ArcadeParts_pliki/Projekt.htm)

Try your search function again, this time, looking for the phrase "ergonomics".

Good luck

You kind of have to make it because not all control panels are the same width, so who knows how much room you have to work with, thus how far apart player 1 and player 2 should be from one another.  If you have MS Visio you can plug in the dimensions of your control panel and then drag/drop joysticks and buttons (there are stencils available on this site for buttons, joysticks, trackballs, etc.).  Then you can just print it out and go.

Here's one that I threw together for someone once upon a time (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=83474.msg872492#msg872492).  If it's close to the dimensions of your panel, maybe you could use it.

Sweet thanks guys! You pointed me in the right direction.  I may use the drawing you made and alter it a bit.
