Title: Area 51 Power Problem
Post by: koinsatx on September 18, 2008, 06:46:40 pm
I recently picked up an Area 51 working cabinet at an auction. It looks like it is a conversion and is in a Capcom dynamo cab which was originally a super street fighter II:new challengers cab (manual was inside).

Recently it has intermittently stopped powering up and I noticed several things, the power supply fan was not turning even though it did power up and an LED on the PCB call TOO LOW was red. I thought my power supply had died so I ordered a replacement power supply from Happ.

After swapping it out, everything seems to work fine but the TOO LOW LED is still lit.  Any one have any ideas?

Hope that all made sense as I am just getting started and trying to learn.

Thanks

Which power supply do you have ?

Does it have an adjustable 5v on it anywhere ?

I had replaced it with this one from Happ.

Looking at power supply it does appear to have a "V adj" turn-screw on the side of case. I take it, that would be a voltage adjustment.

Man, I wish I remember some of my electronics classes from 20 years ago.

Off Topic: Did Happ become Dutch? Suzo is Dutch, and they always say that a company with a double name will loose the second in a while. So Suzo must be the most important one here.
