I couldn't find anyone else who has done this (although I'm sure someone probably has), but I've just setup X-Wing (dos) on my cabinet.
I can launch it from Mamewah, and an AutoHotKey script is run prior to DosBox in order to remap my control panel buttons and pedals to functions in the game. It runs at genuine 320x200 via ArcadeVGA. Works very well:

Now that's cool. This is the kind of thing that I could build a cabinet around.

sweet idea, I just installed that game not that long ago, works great in XP, did a couple of missions, still a great game, 15 years on, the graphics have aged quite well, and the mission structure is still spot on
-
Yeah it's still a cracking game. Graphics are a bit blocky on a modern large LCD screen but look pretty sweet low-res on an arcade monitor. The missions are really well done...just a shame I am absolutely useless at it! :D

Looks cool Minwah. I'll have to give that a shot when I get my yoke installed. Have you seen these freeware games before?

I was planning to try those as well.

That is slick. Such a fun game back in the day. Just keep those shields adjusted and you will do fine :)

Is "XWing" the full name?

All the details here...

I have this somewhere in my 90's closet of doom, along with about 150 other CD's. ;D

Wow never seen a cab dedicated to this game. The star wars yoke is a nice touch. I suppose the gear control handles speed. Very nice! What version of Xwing are you using? Is it the one with CD audio or MIDI soundtrack?
I still have to ask though: How do you plan to keep up with all the other frequently used input stuff? I remember this game using a lot of keyboard input. Your cab doesn't seem to have enough buttons. Wouldn't you need a whole bunch for things like cycling targets, weapon/energy management, go to hyperspace, etc.?

Haven't seen those but thanks, will check them out!

My cabinet is not dedicated for this, it is mainly used for arcade and some console games but I thought I would have a try at adding some old Dos favourites :)
It is the midi one that I have...never played the CD one but I like the midi music...it's the version I played all those years ago...

It doesn't really have enough buttons but I can get by:
P1 start = next target
P2 start = cycle shield direction
Left trigger = select nearest target
Right trigger = fire
Left thumb = cycle laser power
Right thumb = cycle shield power
Shifter (lo) = hyperspace
Shifter turbo = cycle weapon
Throttle pedal = speed up
Brake pedal = slow down
I will probably adjust some of these a bit after a bit more play time. Also, I have a wireless keyboard just out of shot to the right of the cabinet which I can reach to if neccessary, but I think I have the main keys covered.

I checked them out, they are pretty neat, but don't seem to be very cabinet friendly.

I tried them too, good games! I think with a little help from AHK they would be fine in cabinets...especially as they support analog joystick inputs already.
