Anybody know about this monitor? is it new? It's description is exactly the same as the d9400, but it looks to be a bit cheaper.

The D9800 is the newer model that replaces the D9400. I plan on ordering one for my project in the next few weeks and will take my chances and report how it goes.
-
That'd be awesome. I wonder why they are replacing the monitor with a new one that has exactly the same features? Why not just keep making the old model?
Anyway, I suppose we should be glad that someone is still manufacturing new lines of CRTs... even if it is Wells Gardner.

What's funny is the picture there is of a curved tube. Hmmm.
-
PLEASE post a thorough review of this monitor!!

Heheheh.

the 9800 is a replacement for the flat screen d9400, basically identical feature set at a slightly lower price point.... Why does it cost less cause the chassis is now made in CHINA.

Just bumping this one.....did anyone pick up this bad boy?

I would like to know as well. Hey, when ordering this monitor from the WG website, they charge your card before you see the shipping cost? Or is shipping free?
-
Most places add in shipping before asking for specific card info. Takes going that far in the process, though, and no harm done in it either. Just cancel before you give card info.

How do you power one of these monitors? Is it a plug like a Tv,LCd?

I just got an email from them saying that shipping is extra, to ship it to there warehouse in vegas it will cost me 91$ plus the monitor thats around 500 Shipped.

Unless it specifically states 'free shipping', assume it's not. Why don't they post shipping rates? Because distance = difference in cost. Of course, they could include a little calculator deal - but their general customers are bulk buyers and have accounts.
