Crazy Taxi the PC version is an awesomely cabinet friendly PC game. I got the idea when my son and I went to California Extreme '08. They had a Sega Crazy taxi arcade cabinet that I spent a lot of time playing because it was extremely fun.

Because I couldn't find the emulated version I tried the PC version because it has the actual arcade game as an option. I run it using the Maximus Arcade batch file option. You can set it up to use keyboard buttons or a gamepad. Anyway give it a shot. It is a lot of fun.

I also have the PC version of Star Wars Episode I Racer on my cabinet for the same reason.

I played Crazy taxi at the movie theater a few times. Fun stuff. It was the reason I got a dreamcast. I agree that episode racer is fun.

Hi,
I love crazy taxi too, I used to play it a lot on my dreamcast.
But the PC version doesn't provide the true arcade or true DC feeling for 2reasons :
- The animations are not smooth (even by forcing vsync on thenvidia driver)
- The offspring songs are not the same and less fun.
Although, I'll put it on my mame cab when it will bel done. (And Virtua Tennis 3)
-
Just use NullDC, then
-
Yeah but the DC emulation is not really 100% accurate till now, and second, I think Crazy Taxi iso image dumped by kalisto team is a .bin and .cue, and null DC only support .cdi images as I remember, isn't it ?
-
make it selfboot (CDI). It's not that hard
-
No It's OK I found a 72 meg .cdi file (megaupload)
But, is that game well emulated ?
-
I haven't tried it, but this says it's VERY PLAYABLE

I've tried Crazy Taxi on the Demul emulator and it is playable but the game runs at too low of a resolution for my taste. Other then the resolution it is a very nice port. I have a 6300 nvidia geforce card on my cabinet and I can run the PC version at full graphic capability. I just wish the actual arcade game was emulated. Well maybe one day. :blah:

Just dusted off my copy and gave it a go - works well with keys. May not be perfect (pc version) but all-in-all still a good addition to any mame arcade machine and runs pretty well on a decent graphics card as previously stated.
