Title: IPAC problem
Post by: Almightybam on August 19, 2008, 12:44:02 pm
Hi,

I've installed my ipac and did all the wiring correctly.
Nowi'm having troubles with setting up the ipac with the software.

I'v got a 2 player pannel with 8buttons for each player.
when i press the 4th and 6th button its triggering the same key.
The same goes for the 5th and the 6th button...

How do i solve this?

When buttons are pressed is it at same time only, or at separate times?  Are you saying buttons 4, 5 & 6 all send the same key?  Which key is sent?  Which player, or both?  Ipac2 or Ipac4?  (probably ipac2 but JIC)  Did you already use the ipac mapping utility (http://ultimarc.com/ipac3.html)?

when i push them separately.
Button 4 and 6 send to the same key (shiftleft) and button 5 and 6 send to the same key(Z).
I have a ipac1 (this one:http://ultimarc.com/images/ipac2_top.jpg) and i'm using all inputs.
And i did use the Interactive Panel Designer software.
This problem only apears with player one, player two works fine.

Are you certain you have it wired right?

yes i think so,
Every button goes to one input of the ipacpannel.

i can't figure out the problem...

it takes a while to get your head round. You need to click on the button assignment settings 1st and assign a different key to each button. Then save and prog the ipac. Then when you go back you should have different keys and different buttons if that makes sense.

Put it this way, sounds like your wirings right but your programmings wrong.

There is 2 seperate progs built into winipac. Use one to prog the keys, and one to assign them.

Are you clicking on the the button you wish to assign, then pressing the key you want on the keyboard?

Player 1 Button 6 is sending both the Lshift key and the Z key? :dizzy:  (The default for p1b6 is the X key, your others are sending the defaults.)

If it is sending both, it sounds like miswiring.
If I'm reading your problem wrong, could you please help me understand your problem clearly?
