Hi friends,
I downloaded Future Pinball & tons of roms last night for my future...lol
cocktail project. After installation I found it to be terribly slow...I can access the edit
screen but I can't play any of the tables... ???
My current PC is an AMD Athlon 1500, 1Gb RAM & a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 with
APG8X...does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks...

Your PC is too slow to run Future Pinball. That is a graphics intensive program.
-
It requires at least a 1.21gigawatt processor.
-
Side note: It's also borderline too slow to run most newer tables in pinmame. I have an almost identical build pc, and any new dmd games lag really bad. As for future pinball, I was able to get the SS Star trek to run with all settings turned as low as they would go.

I have a AMD Sempron 3000+ with 3/4 gb (i know, i need more) ram and a Geforce 5500, and I can't run FUTURE pinball, but I can run VISUAL pinball perfectly with newer DMD games like Addams Family and Twilight Zone. Have you given VP a try?

IIRC, a sempron 3000+ is only a moderate upgrade from the OP's system. It is roughly equivalent to a 1.8 pentium.

Hey, thanks for the tip ; I'll try it out.
Update: I think the site is down? I can't seem to get hold of it yet...anyone else
having the same problem?

Future Pinball REALLY needs a good video card. Even on my Core 2 Duo E6500, it drags because I'm using Nvidia 7050 on-board video. A separate Nvidia 8500 made it fly.

I dont know if you found this yet, but this site http://irpinball.ztnet.com/files.htm has both main parts of the program (Visual Pinball and VisualPin mame) as well as other necessary files.
