I feel like a total noob for asking these.......
I am MAME-ing the extra 2 slot neo geo cabinet and i KNOW that neo geo isnt quite JAMMA so what needs to be modified on the neogeo wiring to make it compatible with the JPAC.
Question #2; how many inputs are on the JPAC? I wanna make it have the standard Street Fighter Layout and I dunno if the regular old JPAC will cover it.

For your Neo-Geo to Jamma you could use this http://www.jammaboards.com/store/neogeo-mvs-to-jamma-adapter/prod_198.html (http://www.jammaboards.com/store/neogeo-mvs-to-jamma-adapter/prod_198.html).
And no the J-Pac does not have enough inputs for 6 button layout (Street Fighter) The J-Pac is just has a standard Jamma(4 buttons per side) interface, so you would also need an I-Pac for the additional buttons.

Nuh uh.
The J-Pac can handle 8 buttons per player just fine -- it picks up up to 4 through the JAMMA harness, but has screw terminals for buttons 4-8.

that converter is to put an MVS mobo into a jamma wired cab, I wanna put a JPAC in a neo geo wired cab; I just need to know which pins to swap around. Thanks Cheffo, I'm gonna order one tonight and hope I dont fry it =)

Sorry i gave you the wrong link, you need this one http://www.jammaboards.com/store/jamma-to-neogeo-adapter/prod_228.html (http://www.jammaboards.com/store/jamma-to-neogeo-adapter/prod_228.html). I don't really know anything about Neo-Geo cabs, but by the looks of that adapter it looks like theirs more going on their then just switching some wires around. And sorry about the wrong info on the J-Pac, Cheffo is right. Thanks for correcting me on that, i think i might have been drunk when replying to this tread.

I have a MVS cabinet and my JPAC plugged into the edge connector perfectly with no adapter. Stereo sound is all that is strange about the MVS edge connector (I think) and I get audio from the PC so I did not care. 4 extra buttons are connected directly to the JPAC since JAMMA only supports a few buttons.
