Hey there guys,
Im looking at a Hitachi projection TV chassis that a next door neighbor asked me to look at. I checked and replaced the HOT, as it was bad.
Also, there are some parts on the board that look like diodes (are black), but are not. They have no markings on them and are prefixed with 'L' in the component numbers. ex: L403
Any idea what they are and how to test them ? :dunno

Those would be inductors. An LCR meter can test most of the parameters (inductance and DC resistance). They tend to not fail except in catastrophic (i.e. melting) manners.
