Title: Flipper button problem

My right flipper button on my Big Hurt machine works for the flipper but not for activities (press right button for multiball, entering name for high score, etc).  This doesn't make sense to me.  I did a flipper rebuild but didn't replace the switches, could that be the problem?

Lane change switch on right flipper is bad/ not closing when it should?

No, the flipper buttons have functionality beyond moving the flipper.  For example at the end of a game you use the flippers to move letters up and down to change letters to enter initials if you have a high score.  This is not working.  Or one good one is- if you collect a perfect amount of Frank Thomas cards (17), and hit the right sequence of shots you get an option after shooting it in the hole.  let flipper to keep cards or right flipper for double score.  That one really stinks when that isn't working.
