Title: MameWah & PC games
Post by: GeoffE on June 05, 2003, 09:00:30 pm
I saw in the What's New file for MameWah that it now allows for launching of PC games, but I haven't found any specific tools to do that other than creating a directory of batch files. Am I missing something?

BTW, I want to congratulate Minwah on a very nice upgrade. I've been using Mamewah for a long time and this new release is very slick (although I do miss the ability to add a game to favorites with a single button press).

I was wondering when someone would ask this :)

You need to do this:

Create a folder and place in it Windows shortcuts (.LNK files) for all the games / apps you wish to run,
Load MAMEWAH,
Setup a free emulator:
Set the 'Emulator Executable' as 'PC',
Set the 'ROM Path' as the folder containing the shortcuts,
Pick 'ROM Folder Only' as the 'List Generation Method',
Refresh the list.

I think that's it.

Glad you like the update, I will probably be adding a shortcut key for adding games to custom lists at some point.

That worked like a charm -- thanks. The kids are happy StepMania is accessible again (and I can continue my aerobics program!  :D)
