I just acquired a poker type machine.
EDIT: It is a Lucky 8 Lines slot type machine.
It works but the monitor has bad burn in.
Can I use a PC monitor on it?
If so, how would I connect it?
-
If it has a VGA monitor in there already, it's plug and play. If not...no, you can't use it.
-
Thanks!
It has what appears to be a molex connector with a few wires on it. (This is not the power wires).
How can I tell if it is VGA or not?
-
Does it have a VGA connector on it? If not, likely not.
You could also show us a picture, or pick your chassis off the chassis ID sites listed in the "READ THIS FIRST" post.
-
Im pretty sure it dows not have a VGA connector (like a PC one anyway).
I will try to get some pics/more info later..
Thanks!

Bump..
The monitor is a wells gardner model #19K7901.
Im thinking that I probably cant use a regular PC CRT monitor in place of this one.
Does anyone make an adapter to convert the signal to VGA?
-
Why don't you use the 7901? It's a good monitor.
-
Well, the picture on it is not too good. I adjusted the contrast and bright a little and got it better, but there is a metal piece close to the flyback that looks rusted. i think it may have been outside at one time. The cabinet is in bad shape, I can fix that. But I dont trust the monitor.
BTW, it's a Lucky 8 Lines. (Not a poker game but more like a slot machine).

I was reading the FAQ and one post said the K7000A (I think) had two wires going to the high voltage suction cup on the CRT. This one has two wires also.
Do you think the model number stamped on it might be wrong?

So do a cap kit, touch up and bad solder joints, and have yourself a decent monitor again.
