why aren't you using the I/O board to power the Naomi?

On my system, the jamma harness connects into the i/o board.  The I/o board then connects to the naomi with a usb cable, rca jacks, vga cable and the power connector.  I think you need both for the system to work.

Hold on here.  You said you don't have the i/o board, but now you do?

[link deleted because I didn't like how it screwed up the display of messages.  If you want to know what I'm talking about, look up "Naomi I/O" on ebay.com.  I'm talking about the silver thing in the pics.]

Here's a picture showing the I/O board.  Do you have that?

You didn't read the post correctly, I said I don't have the Capcom I/O I have the JAMMA one  :) you know the low budget one. Now correct me if I am wrong I am still new to the NAOMI the Capcom one allows you to power the NAOMI correct? not the others.

To my knowledge, the arcade power supply sends the volts to the I/O board by using the jamma harness.  The I/O board then powers the Naomi.  *My* naomi system  requires the i/o board.  If you can show me pics of a "jamma" i/o board, I will be glad to stand corrected.

Wow.  Interesting.  Does it have the VGA/USB/RCA jacks/hookups to it?

It has the VGA & USB hookup to it. But I am just gonna run the audio & video str8 outta the motherboard. What I don't know is a) where to plugin the kick harness b) what are the function of the other connectors on the I/O.  :dunno Any1 else with a NAOMI that has the el cheapo I/O board feel free to chime in and give me a hand

the vga links to vga out of the naomi, this can be set to output either 31khz or 15khz on dil switch position 1 of the naomi mobo
the usb is not usb,its sega adaption
http://www.sauservice.com/manuals/KITS/NaomiWD.pdf
your video can run direct from the mobo as either 15k or 31k but the audio needs to go via an amp

I don't think I need a sound amp. Reason being I have powered speakers in the cab so all I should have to do is adjust volume accordingly. Unless the sound output is equivalent to that of a turntable. In that case a spare reciever I have laying around will do the job.
